Week #5 N.T. 55 vs Niagara Wheatfield 21

It was week five in AA North and North Tonawanda went to Niagara Wheatfield for their homecoming celebration game. It did not take long for the Jacks to ruin the celebration in the crowd. NT put up 55 points in the first half to hush the crowd and roll out the marbles before the 3rd quarter. Jr. RB Aaron Davis and Sr. RB Brandon McClinsey each had 4 touchdowns as NT scored on all of their first half possessions. Davis added a 50 yard interception for a touchdown. McClinsey had only 6 carries for 149 yards. Jr. QB Mike Tuzzo was 2 for 2 passing for 73 yards....both ended up in Davis' hands. The defense showed a bend don't break mentality and was led by Sr. DB Mike Elmore who had 8 tackles and a pick. Sr. DT Beau Kieser and Sr. LB Joe Gravino added sacks for the Jacks defense. The win finishes a perfect league campaign for the 2008 Lumberjacks and makes the the undefeated division champions on the year. Next week NT hosts St. Joes in an intriguing non-league game at the Lumberjack sports complex. Their should be a big crowd and the game will be televised on Time Warner Cable channel 13.
